The Hanse 388 is a modern 38-foot cruiser-racer from Hanse Yachts, designed by Judel/Vrolijk, and a popular choice for families and couples who want a boat that sails well and is easy to handle.
Below deck, the layout has three double cabins and a bright saloon with an L-shaped settee. The galley has a two-burner gas hob with oven, a fridge and a double sink. One heads with a separate shower serves the whole boat. Large hull windows keep the interior light and airy.
On deck, a fractional sloop rig with a self-tacking jib keeps sail handling simple, even for a short-handed crew. The cockpit is wide and well laid out, and a cast-iron fin keel gives the boat steady, predictable handling. A 29 hp Yanmar diesel with saildrive provides reliable power for manoeuvring in port and motoring in light winds.
